今日は「ネイビースーツに合わせる靴の色はどのように決める？」と言うテーマを掲げて、「Style Book」コンテンツのドレス編の記事をお送りしたいと思います。
Today, I would like to write an article with the theme of “How do you decide the color of shoes to match the navy suit?” And in this article, I consider about the criteria for determining shoe color.
・TPOと装い/Situation and Attire
本日ご紹介するのは、2月中旬の装い。この日は曇っていましたが晴れ間がのぞくこともあり、最高気温は16度くらいで比較的過ごしやすい1日でした。
I’ll introduce the attire of Mid-February 2020. Although it was cloudy on this day, there were times when it was sunny intervals. And the maximum temperature was around 16 degrees, making it a relatively comfortable day.
この日は外部の方との定例ミューティングがあったのでスーツを着用することは決めていたのですが、気温の暖かさもあって冬物ではなく、春用のスーツを着て行くことにしました。
On this day, there was a regular muting with my business partners, so I decided to wear a suit, but due to the warmth of the temperature, I selected to wear a suit for spring instead of winter.
そんな日の装いとして私が選んだのは、ネイビーのペンシルストライプ柄のスーツに、サックスカラーのシャドーストライプ柄ドレスシャツ。そしてグレーベースにブラウンのペイズリー小紋柄が入るシルクジャカードネクタイを締めていきました。
In this situation, I chose a navy pencil striped suit and a sax-colored shadow striped dress shirt. Also I tighten a silk jacquard tie with a small brown paisley pattern on gray-base.
なお、靴はダークブラウンのセミブローグシューズを選んでいます。
The shoes are dark brown semi-blog shoes.
・あとがき/ Consideration
この日に着ていたネイビーのスーツに合わせたのは、ダークブラウンのセミブローグシューズです。
Dark brown semi-brogue shoes were selected to match the navy suit I wore on that day.
上述の通り、この日の打ち合わせの相手は既に何度もお会いしており、信頼関係を構築することの出来ているお相手でした。よって、ホワイトシャツやブラックカラーの靴を用いるといったフォーマルな装いは不要でした。
As mentioned above, the partner who I had a meetings with on this day had already met many times, and we were able to build a relationship of trust. Therefore, there was no need for formal attire such as using white shirts or black colored shoes.
ネイビースーツの場合だけには限らないのですが、私が靴の色を選ぶ際の1つの基準としているのが、合わせるネクタイの色、柄、素材です。
Not only in the case of a navy suit, but one of the criteria for choosing a shoe color is the color, pattern and material of the selected tie.
ネクタイがネイビーのシルク素材で、無地や小紋柄と言ったクラシックでドレッシーな場合には、靴にもドレッシーなブラックカラーを選ぶようにしています。つまり、ネクタイのドレスレベルに合わせて、靴の色を選んでいるのです。
If the tie is a navy silk material and it is classic and dressy, such as plain or small pattern, I also choose dressy black color for my shoes. In other words, I select the color of my shoes according to the formal level of the tie.
今回はグレーカラーかつシルク素材と言うドレッシーな色、素材のネクタイだったのですが、ネクタイの柄がブラウンカラーのペイズリー小紋柄で、ややカジュアルさを感じるネクタイでした。よってブラックではなく、ダークブランの靴を選んだと言う背景があります。
This time, the tie was dressy color and material, but the tie pattern was a paisley small pattern with brown color, and it was a tie that felt somewhat casual. Therefore, I chose dark brown shoes instead of black.
アズーロエマローネと言う、ネイビーカラーのスーツにブラウンの靴を合わせるのは一般的なコーディネートですが、美しい装いをする上で大切なのは装い全体のバランスだと考えています。
Azzurro e Marrone, a combination of navy-colored suits and brown shoes is a general color coordination, but I think that the most important thing in a beautiful attire is the balance of the overall attire.
もし、ネクタイにブラウンがベースのネクタイを今回選んでいたら、靴にはもっと明るい色のブラウンの靴を合わせていたと思いますし、逆にカジュアルな柄が入っていないグレーまたはネイビーベースのネクタイを選んでいたら、私が合わせていたのはブラックの靴だったと思います。
If I chose a brown-based tie this time, I might select more lighter-colored brown shoes for my feet. And if a gray or navy-based tie with no casual pattern was chosen I would select the black shoes.
ネクタイと靴とのドレスレベルを合わせなければならないと言うルールはありませんが、個人的にはその点を意識すると、より美しい装いが出来るのではないかと感じています。
There is no rule that the formal level of a tie and shoes must match, but personally, by matching the level of it, I feel that I can make a more beautiful attire.
