今日は「冬のライダースジャケットスタイリング」と言うテーマを掲げて、「Style Book」コンテンツのカジュアル編の記事をお送りしたいと思います。
Today, I would like to write an article with the theme of “Winter Riders leather jacket styling.” And in this article, I consider about how to use riders leather jacket that does not give a tough impression.
・TPOと装い/Situation and Attire
本日取り上げるのは、2020年の2月初旬のカジュアルスタイリングです。この日は朝からよく晴れており、また最高気温はこの時期にしては14度程度と高く、暖冬であることを表すような温かい1日でした。
Today I’ll introduce a casual styling in early February 2020. It was a sunny day from the morning and the maximum temperature was as high as 14 degrees for this time, which was a warm day indicating that it was a warm winter.
天気も良いのでドライブがてら近場に出かけることにしたのですが、気温の高さや車移動であることを踏まえて、軽装で外出をすることにしました。
I decided to go out in a nearby area by car because of the good weather. And I selected light clothes because of the high temperature and car movement.
そこで私が着用したのが、ブラックカラーのライダースレザージャケットに薄手のホワイトのハイゲージのタールネック、パンツにはブラックデニムを穿いています。
Since, I wore a black riders leather jacket, a thin white high gauge turtleneck, and black denim pants.
また足元にはカジュアルなブラックカラーのハイカットスニーカーを選びました。
In addition, I chose casual black-colored high-top sneakers for my feet.
・あとがき/ Consideration
今期のファッショントレンドとしてモノトーンの色使いが注目されていることもあり、この日はモノトーンコーディネートを楽しみました。
I enjoyed monotone coordination on this day, because the monotone colors were attracting attention as a fashion trend this term.
また、上述したような天候でしたので、冬の時期には私としては珍しいライダースのレザージャケットを中心としたコーディネートを選んでいます。
I also wore riders leather jackets which is rare item for me in the winter months, because of the weather described above.
一般的にレザーウェアは、他の素材のアイテムに比べるとハードな印象になる傾向があります。特にライダースジャケットは、1931年にアメリカのバイクメーカーであるハーレーダビッドソンによって初めて作られたと言う起源や、映画などで作られたイメージからも分かるように、ハードでアウトローな印象が強いアイテムです。
In general, leatherwear tends to look tougher than items of other materials. In particular, the riders jacket has a tough and outlaw impression as you can see from the origin that it was made for the first time by American motorcycle manufacturer Harley Davidson in 1931, and movies made that impression.
よって、ライダースジャケット自身が持っている雰囲気をそのまま表現したい人にとっては問題はないのですが、普段イタリアンエレガンスのスタイルを好んでいる私のような人からすると、若干扱いにくいアイテムであるように思います。
So the riders leather jacket has no problem for people who has intentions to express the atmosphere of the item itself as it is, but it seems to be a bit awkward item for people like me who usually like the style of Italian elegance.
このような中で、レザーアイテムからハードな印象を取り除き、より上品な雰囲気を醸し出そうとする際に注目すべき点の1つが「何の革なのか」と言う、アイテムに使われている素材です。
One of the things to keep in mind when trying to remove a tough impression from leather items and create a more refined atmosphere is leather type which used in the jacket.
今回私が着用したのはライダースジャケットとしてよく使われている牛革ではなく、羊革のライダースジャケットです。羊革は牛革に比べると革のキメが細かく、柔らかいと言う特徴があります。また、雰囲気として牛革に比べると優しく、上品な風合いになります。
The leather I wore this time is lamb leather, not cowhide, which is often used as a rider’s jacket. Lamb leather has a feature that leather texture is finer and softer than cowhide. In addition, the atmosphere is gentler than cowhide and gives a refined texture.
特に私が着用したライダースジャケットは成羊のシープスキンではなく、子羊のラムスキンを使っていますので、その特徴がより顕著に出てきます。
In particular, the rider’s jacket I wore uses lamb lambskin instead of sheepskin, so its characteristics are more pronounced.
レザーアイテムはデザインや色以上に何の革なのかと言う点が、アイテムが醸し出す雰囲気に大きく影響を与えると感じています。よってレザーアイテム特有のハードさを抑えたい方には、羊革のレザーウェアが特におススメです。
For leather items, I feel that leather type has a great influence on the atmosphere created by the item than the design or color. Therefore, if you want to reduce the tough image of leather items, lamb leather is especially recommended.
今回はラムスキンと言う素材に加えて、ライダースジャケットの黒の反対色である白いアイテム、かつエレガントな雰囲気を出しやすいハイゲージのタートルネックをインナーに合わせている点や、革のブーツではなく、スニーカーを合わせている点もハードな雰囲気を抑えるのに効果的だと感じています。
This time, I feel that the following points in the attire have the effect of suppressing the unique atmosphere of leather products.
- Selected the white item which is the opposite color of the black of the rider’s jacket
- Selected the high gauge turtleneck which is easy to give an elegant atmosphere to the inner
- Selected the sneakers, not the leather boots
アイテムその物が持っている雰囲気を変えたい場合は、このように当該アイテムとは反対の要素を持つ素材や色、雰囲気のアイテムを一緒にコーディネートすることがポイントだと考えています。
That is, if you want to change the character of an item, it is important to coordinate with the materials, colors, and atmospheres that have the opposite elements.
