今日は「リネンジャケット×タイドアップスタイル」と言うテーマを掲げて、「Style Book」コンテンツのドレス編の記事をお送りしたいと思います。
Today, I would like to write an article with the theme of “How to wear a linen jacket dressy”. And in this article, I consider about the way to dress casual linen material dressy.
※The definition of a dress style is a tie style in this site.
・TPOと装い/Situation and Attire
本日ご紹介するのは、5月中旬の装い。この日は曇り、どきどき雨がぱらつくような天候でしたが、最高気温は20度程近くまであがりました。
I’ll introduce the attire of middle May 2020. Although it was cloudy and rainy on this day, the maximum temperature rose to about 20 degrees Celsius.
また、この日は金曜日で取引先と会う予定もありませんでしたので、カジュアルフライデーならではの装いを楽しむことにしました。
And I didn’t plan to meet with the customer and it was Friday, so I decided to enjoy the casual Friday attire.
そんな日の装いとして私が選んだのは、ウール×シルク×リネンのブラウンベースのチェック柄パッチポケット付きジャケットに、ホワイトベースのブラウンカラーのストライプ柄シャツ。そしてベージュベースのチェック柄ウールネクタイを締めました。
In this situation, I choose a wool × silk × linen brown-based plaid patch pocket jacket and a white-based brown-collar striped shirt. And I tied a beige wool checked-tie.
これにカーキカラーのコットンチノパンツを穿き、靴にはブラウンのスエードローファーを選んでいます。
I also wore khaki cotton chino-trousers, and selected brown suede loafers for my shoes.
・あとがき/ Consideration
リネン素材と言うのはその生地の目の粗さからも分かる通り、一般的にはカジュアルな生地に分類されます。
The linen material is generally classified as a casual fabric, as can be seen from the coarseness of the cloth.
よってリネン素材のスーツやジャケットは、例えばサマーバケーションの際にリゾートホテルで過ごすシーンであったり、夏場のレストランでディナーを楽しんだりする際に用いられることが多いと思います。
Therefore, I think that suits and jackets made of linen fabric are often selected, for example, spending at a resort hotel in a summer vacation or when enjoying a dinner at a restaurant in the summer.
個人的にはリネン素材だから涼しいと言う感覚を感じたことは正直ありませんが、汗をかいてもベタベタすることなく、サラリとしたドライな感覚が続き、また乾きやすいと言う点は暑い夏の日にかけて用いるのには最適な素材の1つだと思っています。
Personally I don’t feel it’s cool even in summer just because it’s made by linen material, but it doesn’t feel sticky even if I sweat, it keeps a dry feeling, and it’s easy to dry in the hot summer. I think it is one of the best materials to use over the day.
そんなリネン素材のスーツやジャケットにネクタイを合わせ、美しくコーディネートをする方法としては、2つのアプローチがあると思っています。
I think there are two approaches to how to coordinate a tie with a suit or jacket made of linen material and coordinate beautifully.
1つ目は、スーツやジャケットにリネン以外のドレッシーな素材、例えばウールやシルクと言った素材が混紡されているものを選ぶことで、ジャケット自体の雰囲気にドレッシーさを持たせると言う方法。
The first method is to add dressy to the atmosphere of the linen jacket itself by choosing a linen mixed with materials such as wool and silk, for the suit or jacket.
2つ目は、合わせるシャツやネクタイ、パンツにカジュアルよりの素材や色、柄を合わせることで、トータルルックのバランスを整えてあげる方法です。
The second method is to balance the total look by using materials, colors, and patterns that are more casual.
前者の方がドレスよりの装いとなり、後者はカジュアルよりの装いとなります。
The former will be more dressy style and the latter will be casual one.
今回は前者である、ドレッシーな素材が混紡されているジャケットを用いることで、ネクタイを合わせやすいコーディネートを採用しています。
This time, by using the former way, which is a blend of dress materials, I had adopted a coordinate that makes it easy to match the tie.
リネン素材単体だとシワが出来やすく、生地の表面にも凹凸が表れやすいのでカジュアルな雰囲気が強くなりますが、ウールやシルクが混紡されることで生地にハリと、シルキーな光沢感がうまれ、よりドレッシーな雰囲気が強くなります。
The linen material alone can easily cause wrinkles and unevenness on the surface of the fabric, which creates a more casual atmosphere, but when wool and silk are mixed, the fabric become more firm and elegant luster. That means the suit or jacket become dressy.
これにより、ドレスシャツやウールのネクタイが合わせやすくなると思っています。
I think this will make it easier to match dress shirts and wool ties to the linen suit or jacket.
ただし、この日はカジュアルフライデーを楽しむと言う目的があったので、ネクタイにはカジュアルな柄であるチェック柄を用いており、パンツにもカーキのチノパンを合わせることでカジュアルダウンをした「リネンジャケット×タイドアップスタイル」を楽しんでいました。
However, because I had the purpose of enjoying Casual Friday on this day, I selected a casual check pattern on my tie and used khaki chino trousers. And I was enjoying “Tied-up style” with the casual linen jacket.
リネン素材単体よりも、ウールやシルクが入ることでドレッシーな雰囲気のリネンジャケットスタイリングをしやすくなると思いますので、ドレッシーな雰囲気のリネンジャケットやスーツのスタイリングを楽しみたい方は、是非素材を意識したジャケット選びをしてみてはいかがでしょうか。
I think that it will be easier to style a linen jacket with a dressy atmosphere by using a material in which wool and silk are mixed in the linen rather than the linen alone. If you want to enjoy dressy linen jacket and suit styling, why not try choosing jacket that take material into consideration?
