今日は「タートルネック×ダブルブレステッドスーツのスタイリング」と言うテーマを掲げて、「Style Book」コンテンツのカジュアル編の記事をお送りしたいと思います。
Today, I would like to write an article with the theme of “Styling of turtleneck and double-breasted suit.” And in this article, I consider how to coordinate the turtleneck and double-breasted suit in elegance.
・TPOと装い/Situation and Attire
本日取り上げるのは、2020年の1月初旬のカジュアルスタイリングです。この日は1日を通して晴れており、最高気温は13度程度でしたが、気温よりも寒さを感じる1日でした。このような中で、その日は都心にウィンドウショッピングを兼ねて出かける予定になっていました。
Today I’ll introduce a casual styling in middle January 2020. The day was sunny throughout the day, with a maximum temperature of around 13 degrees, but it was a day that felt colder than the temperature. In these situation, on this day, I was planning to go out for window shopping in Tokyo.
当日はランチをレストランでとることを考えていたので、ややドレッシーさのあるカジュアルスタイリングを心がけました。選んだのはグレーがベースのグレンチェック柄のダブルブレステッドスーツ（ウール）にブラックのタートルネックを合わせて、胸にはチャコールグレーのウールのポケットスクエアを入れています。
I was thinking of having a lunch at a restaurant that day, so I decided to wear dressy items. So I chose a gray base double-breasted glen check wool suit with a black turtleneck, and put a charcoal gray wool pocket square on my chest.
また、足元にはブラックカラーながらもカジュアルよりのモデルであるフルブローグシューズを選んでいます。
Also I choose full brogue shoes which are a model with black color, but casual.
なお、普段は車で移動することの多い私ですが、この日は電車で移動したため、ダウンコートを羽織っていきました。
I usually go outside by car, but on this day I moved by train, so I put on my down coat.
・あとがき/ Consideration
休みの日に私がスーツを着ることは滅多にないのですが、この日は行き先や予定などを考慮して、ドレッシーなカジュアルスタイリングを楽しみました。偶然ながら、この日は成人式でしたので、都内にはスーツや着物を着た若者がおり、私のドレス度の高いタイリングも街に馴染んでいたように思います。
I rarely wear suits on holidays, but on this day I enjoyed dressy casual styling, considering destinations and plans. Coincidentally, this day was the coming-of-age ceremony, so there were lots of young people wearing suits and kimonos in Tokyo, and my dressy styling seemed to be familiar with them.
当日は寒さを感じましたので、前を閉じることの出来るダブルのスーツを選びました。ただし、インナーにシャツを合わせるとドレス度が高くなり過ぎる気がしましたので、ドレスダウンのためにインナーにはタートルネックを合わせています。
I felt cold on the day, so I chose a double-breasted suit that could close the front. However, I thought that the level of dressing was too high when I put the shirt on the inner, so I selected a turtleneck on the inner to dress down.
この時、どんなタートルネックを用いるかによって、その装いにおけるドレス度、言い換えるとエレガントさが変わると思っています。
At this time, depending on what kind of turtleneck is used, I think that the level of dress in that attire, in other words, the elegance will change.
アイテムにおけるドレス度に影響を与える主な要素としては、色、柄、素材、仕立て、デザインディティールなどがありますが、本日取り上げたいのは仕立てです。
The main factors that influence the level of dress in an item are color, pattern, material, tailoring, design details, etc. Today, I would like to discuss tailoring.
一般的に、素材はキメの細かい素材ほどドレス度が高く、粗くなるほどカジュアル度が増していきます。ニットであれば、ハイゲージが最もドレス度が高く、ミドルゲージ、ローゲージになるにしたがってカジュアル度が増すと言う感じです。
In general, the finer the material, the higher the level of dressing, and the coarser the material, the more casual. In the case of knitting item, high gauge has the highest dressing level, and casualness will increase as the gauge changes from middle gauge to low gauge.
今回はインナーにシャツではなく、タートルネックを用いることでドレスダウンを意図しつつも、一定のドレッシーさ、エレガントさを失わないために、ニットにおいても最もドレス度の高いハイゲージのタートルネックを用いました。
This time, by using a high-gauge turtleneck which has the highest level of dressing instead of a shirt for the inner, I intended to maintain a certain level of dressiness and elegance.
個人的には、シングルかダブルかを問わず、スーツに合わせるのであればハイゲージ又はミドルゲージのニットであればバランスが良いと考えており、ジャケパンスタイルであれば、ジャケットによってはローゲージでも上手くまとめることが出来るのではないかと考えています。
Personally, regardless of whether it’s a single or double-breasted suit, if you would like to coordinate knit-items to a suit, I think that high-gauge or middle-gauge knits will make a good balance. And depending on the type of the jacket, even low gauges can be put together well when wearing a jacket.
