今日は「サファリジャケットでつくるドレス×カントリースタイル」と言うテーマを掲げて、「Style Book」コンテンツのドレス編の記事をお送りしたいと思います。
Today, I would like to write an article with the theme of “「Dress×Country Style」with Safari Jacket”. And in this article, I consider about how to enjoy the combination with dress and country taste.
※The definition of a dress style is a tie style in this site.
・TPOと装い/Situation and Attire
本日ご紹介するのは、1月中旬の金曜日の装い。この日は晴れ間がのぞくこともありましたが、1日を通して雲が多く、気温は最高気温11度くらいと若干肌寒い1日でした。
Today, I’ll introduce the Friday attire of middle January. It was a chilly day with a lot of clouds throughout the day, with a maximum temperature of around 11 degrees Celsius.
この日は金曜日であったことに加えて、社内作業のみを予定していましたので、カジュアル度の高い装いを楽しむことにしました。
That the day was Friday, and I was planning to work only in-house, so I decided to enjoy a casual attire.
このような中で私が選んだのが、ライトブラウンをベースカラーとしたスエードのサファリジャケットと、ホワイトの無地のカジュアルシャツとブラウンカラーのウールのニットタイ。そして、ブラウンベースのフェアアイル柄のVネックベストを防寒とアクセントを兼ねて加えました。
In this situation, I choose a suede safari jacket with a base color of light brown, a plain white casual shirt and a knit tie of brown wool. And I add a v-neck vest with a brown-based fair-isle pattern as an accent and against cold.
そしてパンツにはベージュのドレスよりのチノパンツを穿き、足元にはダークブラウンカラーのダブルモンクストラップのスエードブーツを選びました。
I also wore dress-chino trousers of a beige and put a dark brown suede double monk strap boot for my feet.
・あとがき/ Consideration
カジュアルフライデーはアメリカで始まった習慣だと言われています。Tシャツやデニムで仕事をするハイテクベンチャー企業の社員のスタイルがもてはやされたこともありますし、体制派の象徴であるスーツに反抗した結果と言う、政治思想としての要素も実はあったようです。
Casual Friday is said to be a custom that began in the United States. At that time, the style of high-tech venture employees working in t-shirts and denim has been welcomed, and there also seems to be a political philosophy of the result of rebelling against suits, a symbol of the regime.
90年代には日本においてもアメリカを見習い、金曜日にはカジュアルなスタイルで仕事をする企業が増えたと言います。スーツを脱ぎ、ネクタイを締めないカジュアルなスタイルで仕事をすることで、柔軟かつ自由な発想で仕事に取り組もうと言うスローガンもあったとか。
It is said that in the 1990s, Japan followed the United States, and on Fridays lots of companies worked in casual style. And there was a slogan that working with a flexible and free idea by taking off their suits and work in a casual style that did not wear a tie.
しかし現在の日本では気温の高い夏場にはネクタイをしないクールビズと言うスタイルが定着し、また世界的な仕事着のカジュアル化の流れもあって、特定の曜日だけカジュアルな装いで仕事をすると言う傾向は少ないように感じています。
However in today’s Japan, cool biz styles that do not wear a tie have become established in the hot summer seasons, and there is a trend toward to work with casual clothes around the world. So I feel there is few case to work casual style only on Friday.
曜日に関係なく、カジュアルな装いで仕事をしている企業もありますし、金融業や接客業を中心として、金曜日であってもスーツにネクタイを締めたスタイルで仕事をしている企業もあります。
Some companies work casually regardless of the day of the week, while others, especially in the finance and service businesses, work in suits and ties even on Fridays.
なお、私は自由度の高い装いが許される職場で働いています。よって、社外の方とお会いする際にはスーツを中心としたドレススタイルで仕事をし、社内での作業が中心の日にはジャケパンスタイルであったり、金曜日にはあえてカジュアル色を強めたスタリングをしたりして楽しんでいます。
I work in a workplace where there is no dress code. Therefore, when I meet with people outside the company, I work in a suit style, and on the day when I work mainly in my company, I work in jacket style, or on Friday, I dare to select casual style to have fun.
この日はスエードのサファリジャケットを中心にカジュアルなタイドアップスタイリングを堪能しました。
On this day, I enjoyed casual tie-styling with a suede safari jacket.
カジュアルなスエード素材のサファリジャケットであれば、ドレスシャツよりもカジュアルシャツの方が相性が良いですし、またシルクのネクタイよりは、カジュアルなウールのニットタイ、ウールのドレスパンツよりは、チノパンの方がバランスが良いと考えました。
For casual suede safari jacket, casual shirt is fit better than dress shirt, and casual wool knit tie are more fit than silk tie. Also I feel chino trousers are more balanced than wool dress trousers to this jacket. I chose items carefully to match the tie style of a suede safari jacket.
この日の装いにおけるポイントは、サファリジャケットにタイドアップをしたことと、カントリー色の強いフェアアイル柄のニットベストをインナーに合わせた点です。せっかくのカジュアルフライデーだったので、装いで遊ぶのであれば、中途半端ではないほうが良い。と言うことで、カントリーテイストを感じるスコットランドに起源を持つフェアアイル柄のニットベストを入れることで、ドレス×カントリーと言う異色の組み合わせを楽しみました。
The point of this day’s attire was a tie style with the safari jacket, and a knit vest with a fair-isle pattern of country taste was selected to the inner. It was a casual Friday, so if I enjoy my attire, it is better not to be half-way. So, I dressed with a country-feeling knit vest with a fair-isle pattern originating in Scotland. Then I enjoyed the unique combination of dress x country.
サファリジャケットはカジュアルなアイテムと言う位置付けですが、テーラード仕立てのサファリジャケットと、この日に着ていたような、アウターにもなり得るサファリジャケットとでは、合わせられるアイテムの幅が異なってきます。
The safari jacket is a casual item, but the tailored safari jacket and the safari jacket that I wore it this time will have different type of matching items.
当然、テーラード仕立てのサファリジャケットの方が、ドレッシーなアイテムとのコーディネートがしやすいと言う意味です。
Naturally, a tailored safari jacket is easier to coordinate with dressy items.
今回はスエード素材のカジュアルよりのジャケットに加えて、カントリー調のフェアアイル柄のベストを用いていましたので、ニットタイと言うカジュアルなネクタイでタイドアップしました。
This time, in addition to a casual suede safari jacket, I used a country-taste fair-isle pattern vest, so I wore a casual knit tie.
しかし、例えばインナーに無地のウールのカーディガンを用いるような場合には、シルク素材でもネップ調のネクタイであったり、ウール素材でも起毛感のあるフランネルのような素材のネクタイであれば、合わせることが出来ると思っています。
However, for example, when using a plain wool cardigan for the inner, even if it is a silk material, it is easy to combine with a nep-yarn tie. Or even if it is a wool material, a brushed flannel-material can be coordinate with that style.
つまり、一律にドレスかカジュアルなのかと言う2択で考えるのではなく、カジュアルの中でも、それがどれくらいのカジュアルさを持つのかと言う細かなレベル分けをしながら、アイテム同士をコーディネートすることが美しく装う上では大切だと考えています。
In other words, it is not just a matter of two choices of dress or casual, but also the matter of how level of casualness. In order to dress beautifully, it is important to grasp the properties of items in detail and match them with each other.
